Ask PONI
Have a digital-safety question? Send it in. The best questions become lessons for everyone.
How it works
- Email your question to ask@beaponi.com. Keep it general: "Is it safe to use a password manager?" or "How do I know if a delivery text is real?"
- We pick questions that will help the most people and answer them as posts on this site and on Instagram.
- We never use your name, email address, or anything that could identify you. We rewrite every question in our own words before we answer it.
We read every question, but we can't reply to each one personally.
Please don't send personal or health information
Ask your question in general terms. Don't include personal information (sometimes called PII) or health information (sometimes called PHI), about you or anyone else. That means:
- Who you are: your full name, home address, phone number, date of birth, or photos of yourself
- Account details: passwords, one-time codes, account numbers, or card numbers
- ID numbers: your Social Security number, driver's license, passport, or other ID documents
- Health information: medical conditions, prescriptions, insurance or Medicare numbers, or details from a doctor or hospital
- Screenshots that show any of the above
- Details about other people, including family members
If a question needs a screenshot to make sense, describe it in words instead. If you send personal or health information by mistake, we won't use it, and we delete it.
